What to Do if Goods Arrive Damaged

What to Do if Goods Arrive Damaged

All equipment supplied by AE Sewing Machines is packaged carefully to minimise the risk of damage during transport. However, it is important to inspect all deliveries on arrival to ensure any issues are identified and resolved as quickly as possible.

Prompt inspection and reporting help us investigate and resolve problems efficiently with the carrier.

Inspect the Delivery on Arrival

When your delivery arrives:

  • Inspect the outer packaging before installation or use

  • Look for visible signs of damage such as crushed packaging, tears, dents, or impact marks

Where possible, complete this inspection before the equipment is moved into position.

Photograph Any Damage

If damage is identified:

  • Take clear photographs showing the damage

  • Include images of both the packaging and the affected equipment

  • Capture the damage from multiple angles where possible

Photographic evidence helps support a faster resolution process.

Notify AE Sewing Machines Immediately

If damage is found, notify AE Sewing Machines as soon as possible. Early notification allows us to:

  • Raise the issue promptly with the carrier

  • Assess the extent of the damage

  • Advise on next steps

Delays in reporting may affect the resolution process.

Do Not Use the Equipment

Do not power on or operate equipment that appears to be damaged.

Using damaged equipment may:

  • Cause further damage

  • Create safety risks

  • Delay resolution or repair

Wait for guidance before attempting installation or operation.

Why Prompt Reporting Matters

Reporting delivery damage quickly helps ensure:

  • Faster investigation with the carrier

  • Reduced downtime

  • Clear and efficient resolution

AE Sewing Machines recommends inspecting all deliveries immediately on arrival to help ensure equipment can be installed and operated safely and as intended.
