Oil Issues – Leaks, Splashing, or Discolouration

Oil Issues – Leaks, Splashing, or Discolouration

Industrial sewing machines typically use clear, white sewing machine oil. Changes in oil appearance or behaviour should be monitored as part of routine maintenance.

What Is Normal

Under normal operation:

  • Oil should remain clear and transparent

  • Oil may last for months or years depending on usage and environment

When to Take Action

Oil should be changed if it:

  • Becomes milky

  • Turns brown or heavily discoloured

Discoloured oil may indicate contamination or degradation.

If oil condition is abnormal:

  • Stop the machine

  • Inspect the oil condition

  • Change the oil if contamination is present

Clean oil is essential for correct lubrication and long-term reliability.
