Machine Runs but Will Not Sew

Machine Runs but Will Not Sew

Machine Powers On but Does Not Stitch

If the machine powers on but does not produce stitches, the issue is often related to setup or safety conditions, rather than a mechanical fault.

Before raising a support request, complete the checks below.

Common Causes

This issue may be caused by:

  • The presser foot not being fully lowered

  • Thread not correctly engaged in the sewing path

  • Active safety systems preventing operation

  • The machine being in an incorrect operating mode

Before escalating the issue:

  • Lower the presser foot fully

  • Completely re-thread the machine using the supplied threading diagram

  • Check that no safety systems or interlocks are active

  • Test the machine at a reduced speed

Many “machine not sewing” issues are resolved by completing these steps.

If the Issue Persists

If the machine still does not stitch after completing the checks above, contact AE Sewing Machines with the machine model, serial number, and a description of the behaviour observed.
