Machine Will Not Power On

Machine Will Not Power On

If your industrial sewing machine does not power on, the following checks should be completed before raising a support request. Many power-related issues can be resolved quickly with basic inspection.

Step 1: Check the Power Supply

Confirm that:

  • The machine is connected to a live power supply

  • Power cables are securely connected

  • Any external isolators or switches are turned on

If the machine is connected via an extension or distribution unit, confirm this is also powered correctly.

Step 2: Check the Emergency Stop (If in Place)

Ensure that the emergency stop button is fully released.

Emergency stop systems prevent the machine from powering on when engaged. Reset the emergency stop according to the machine’s normal operating procedure.

Step 3: Check Fuses and Circuit Protection

Inspect:

  • Machine fuses, where accessible

  • Local circuit breakers or distribution boards

A tripped breaker or blown fuse may prevent the machine from powering on.

Step 4: If the Issue Persists

If the machine still does not power on after completing the checks above, please contact AE Sewing Machines for further assistance.

When contacting support, include:

  • Machine model

  • Serial number

  • A brief description of the checks already carried out

This information helps us diagnose the issue more efficiently.

Why These Checks Matter

Completing basic power checks first helps:

  • Reduce unnecessary downtime

  • Avoid delays in diagnosis

  • Ensure safe and correct operation

AE Sewing Machines recommends carrying out these checks before submitting a support or warranty request.
